Jury Erasmus Jazz Prize
Daniel found his passion for music in his hometown of Madrid. He fell in love with the electric guitar and bass. His initial inspirations came from bands like King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. With a growing love for jazz and world music, he eventually left Spain to study jazz in the Netherlands, learning from Reinier Baas, Ronald Schmitz, and Ed Verhoef. During his studies, he developed a passion for composing that led him on an eternal journey through new sounds, structures, and techniques. He is an active member of bands and also works as an occasional session musician. Additionally, he’s a versatile musician and music teacher with a diploma in Music Education. In 2019, Daniel was awarded the prestigious Erasmus Jazz Prize for Best Soloist with his project AMAGUK.
